Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting as a governmental institution, declared itself as the Ukrainian patriotic body. "Against the background of the Russian-oriented rhetoric of numerous Ukrainian governmental officials, the patriotic rhetoric of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting was a pleasant surprise", he

Deputy Chairman reminded that the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting as a central body of the executive power with quite high status (since a candidate for the office of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting Chairman is given by the President and the parliamentary majority votes for it) acts as a part of the Governmental System of Ukraine.

According to M. Tomenko, grounds for such evaluation cane be explained by the fact that the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting recognized among the laureates of the Ivan Franko Award work of Volodymyr Bilinskyi "Kraina Moksel or Moskovia" («Країна Моксель, або Московія»). Discussing the above-mentioned work, M. Tomenko stated that even without goig into details, one may characterize the book as "brave scientific scouting that prejudices the present official version of the Russian history and origin of the Russian nation and also discuss a number of so-called historical thefts from the Ukrainian history to Russian."

"Probably the book have been raising numerous scientific debates, though fact remains unchanged against the background of the Russia-oriented activity of numerous Governmental officials, State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting demonstrated itself as the Ukrainian patriotic body", resumed M. Tomenko.
